Cub Scouts (Pack 338)

1st-5th grades
Tuesdays at 7PM - AdventureLand Second Floor

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings. Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

For almost 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.

DivorceCare 4 Kids

Tuesdays | 6:30-8:00pm
12 week program offered in spring and fall
| Contact

DivorceCare 4 Kids is a peer support group for children who are experiencing change and loss from divorce.  This class provides children with a safe place to talk about their loss and helps them move through the grief process toward healing.  The student/teacher ratios are low, usually three to five children per adult, because the goal is to allow each of the children a chance to share feelings. The goal of DivorceCare 4 Kids is to facilitate children’s movement through the grief process toward acceptance of life’s changes and losses, forgiveness of those whom they perceive to have caused the changes and losses, and an understanding that despite the changes and losses, their Heavenly Father remains constant in His presence and His love.

The lesson themes are:

  • What is Happening to My Family?
  • God Loves Children in All Kinds of Families
  • Facing My Anger
  • Journey from Anger to Sadness
  • I Am Not Alone
  • God’s Plan for Me
  • Developing New Relationships
  • Developing Money Smarts
  • It’s Not My Fault
  • Telling My Parents How I Feel
  • Forgiveness
  • Loving My Parents
  • Moving On: Growing UP and Closer to God

Registration is a must - forms are available at the Children’s Ministry desk; class size is limited and on a first-come-first-serve basis. Continuity is important; late registration will be held for the next semester of DivorceCare 4 Kids.
